About the Department

The Department of Information Technology was established in the year 2007. Over the past few years, the department has acquired great importance in Technical World. This has been achieved by the collective and responsive effort of the faculty, the supporting staff and the students. Department of IT offers Undergraduate (B.Tech.) and Postgraduate (M.Tech.) programs in Information Technology and a Master of Computer Applications program. Our faculty members aim at delivering top class education blending their rich research experience with classroom teaching. The Department is adopting new innovative teaching methodologies by focusing on ‘Outcome Based Education’. The students of this department actively participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities in-house and elsewhere.

To achieve academic excellence for the department of Information Technology by imparting in-depth knowledge to the students, cater to the ever changing industrial demands and societal needs.

Our Mission

• Imparting quality engineering education to students by enhancing problem solving, programming and soft skills to thrive in their professional lives. • To establish Industry Institute Interaction through collaborative Projects, Internships, Industrial Visits, Invited Talks etc. • To facilitate the latest tools and technologies through Workshops, Conferences, Symposiums, Project Exhibitions, Student Conventions, MOOCs, NPTEL courses etc. • To promote fundamental research in the thrust areas of Information and Communication Technology through funding agencies.

In today’s fast-paced world, Information Technology plays a vital role in shaping our nation’s future. Since its inception in 2007, the Department of Information Technology has grown significantly, establishing itself as a key player in the technological landscape. This remarkable progress is the result of our faculty’s unwavering dedication, our staff’s steadfast support, and our students’ enthusiastic engagement.

The Department offers a comprehensive array of programs, including undergraduate degrees like B.Tech, B.Tech (Hons., & Minor), a postgraduate degree in M.Tech (Data Science), and a Master’s in Computer Applications (MCA) in Information Technology. Our faculty are deeply committed to delivering high-quality education, combining their extensive research expertise with innovative teaching methods.

In keeping with contemporary educational trends, we are actively implementing Outcome-Based Education (OBE) to ensure our students are equipped to meet the demands of the future. Beyond the classroom, our students participate in a variety of co-curricular activities that enrich their educational experience.
